The diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer is traumatic. Losing one’s breasts is a physical change but also a huge shift in how a woman views her femininity. Restorative tattooing is the final step in the reconstruction process that signifies “it’s done,” giving closure to this journey.

Unfortunately, many women cannot afford this important procedure and never get that closure, like my friend, Jennie. It had been several years since her reconstruction and when I found out she’d never been able to get her tattoos, I knew I had to remedy that! When she exclaimed, “Now I’m a girl again” after seeing her tattoos, I knew I wanted to be able to do this for others in her situation! That’s how the Jennie Fund was born.
